Update

Claire is getting her 5th tooth.  So thats 3 on top and 2 on the bottom.  No WONDER she has been so fussy! getting two teeth at once!  Poor baby.  I've also caught her standing up and walking by herself.  Get ready for some more baby proofing, especially now that she is tall enough to start pulling things out of the trash can.  Gross.

Al Gore LIES

One of the ways that people sell Sequim is by saying how it is sunny most of the year and during the winter never snows.  LIES...its all a lie!  It dumped more than 7 inches last night.  School was cancelled today so Brian didn't have to do seminary.  Global warming my behind.  More like the next ice age.  

Anyway, I went to my drs appointment today and LOVED the midwife I saw.  I'm really excited and hope that all the midwives are like her.  We went to JoAnns and instead of picking out fabric I just got the pieces.  So I am still sewing the wall hanging but I don't have to measure and cut out anything.  Probably best for me for now. 

Claire has been doing good with her 'walking' today.  She is also getting her 4th tooth.  It's weird because she has one of her big top teeth in but instead of the other big one coming in it is one to the side.  Strange.  Anyway, I'm so tired.  I don't sleep deeply at night.  I feel like I'm just dozing in between dreams.  I'm exhausted all day.  Last night I was wishing I could take a sleeping pill or something.  Very frustrating.  Hope tonight is better!

Some firsts...

Last night Claire took her first steps!  She took 6 in a row!  She is getting so big!!  I've tried to get her to do it today but she likes looks at me like....that is way too much work Mom!  

Another first is poison control.  lol.  I was doing dishes and she was in the living room playing and all of a sudden it was quiet.  I came in and s

aw that she had taken the diaper bag off the shelf and gotten into one of the inside pockets, somehow got out the hand sanitizer and took off the cap and was sucking on it.  Yuck!  I didn't think she got much but I decided to call just to be on the safe side.  Hopefully I wont have to do that again!

And this is the first car we have bought.  Haha.  Brian keeps telling me all of the luxury features it has.  And a sun roof.  Cant forget about that!

Tomorrow I am meeting the midwives.  And you think I'm pregnant huh?  It's not going to be something fun like that.  Just a year appointment.  (Wow...did I really just put that on my blog? yes I did)  I'm excited to see what they are all about.  I've heard that one thinks that Mormon men force their wives to have a lot of kids.  LOL.  Brian wants what I want :)  Anyway, I'm making Brian come with me because they have all new patient appointments last an hour (What I need an hour for...I have NO idea) but I do not want to have to deal with Claire for that.  We are also going to go to Jo Ann's and I'm going to do a sewing project.  It's probably WAY out of my league talent wise but I'm going to give it a good what for.  I may or may not post pictures depending on the success.  (what the heck, I guess I'll let you see my failure.  It will give everyone a good laugh, and maybe an ego boost)

Yay for Thursday!

Yay for Bonesday! lol.  Technically I wont see it until tomorrow when it comes out on Hulu but still.  Is this the episode they get together in????  Oh I hope so.  Look how cute they are!!  (Brian thinks I am certifiably crazy to care this much that two fictional characters get together.  I told you I get into shows too much.  If it gets embarrassing I have to leave, too tense, I have to leave. Anyway)  LOVE THIS SHOW!!  I want to get all the seasons on DVD.

In non Bones related news, last night I went to the Girls Night Out for our Relief Society.  It was fun inspite of the fact that I was at least 25 years younger than the next youngest person.  I car pooled with my visiting teaching companion who I LOVE.  We played a game where you write a random fact about yourself on a piece of paper and then everyone grabs one, read it, and then guess who it was.  One really old lady who I'd never seen before said she was a waitress to Henry Ford and the Mafia.  Huh.  Supposedly she has the best stories to tell.  

Today I have my baby CPR class.  I think, at least.  They were supposed to call to make sure but no one has yet.  Claire and I are also looking forward to a nice walk in the park after her nap today.  She woke up at 4 last night and I rocked her for a long time and she wasn't going back to sleep.  She was just talking.  So, I put her in her crib and put some toys in there with her and I went back to bed.  Brian's alarm went off at 5 and she was still just talking and jumping up and down.  I don't know when she fell back asleep but the next time she woke me up it was 8.  Nice...  I would have not been happy to have been up for the day at that 4:00!

It's official...

we are now a two car family!  It feels good to be able to go run errands or go visit someone whenever I want now :)  Today Claire and I went to the park.  We played on the slides, and in the dirt, and I put her in the baby swing and she loved it.  I wish I would have remembered to take my camera.  We also took a few pieces of bread to feed the ducks.  I got a little nervous because they were coming from all directions and were getting very close.  It wasn't the ducks that made me really nervous, it was the seagulls.  Those things are very aggressive!  I kept backing up and backing up.  Lol.  I didn't want to be attacked!  Anyway, I'm really excited to have the car!

ally have anything going on next week either.  I'm going to take a baby CPR class on Thursday (which is also Bonesday!!).  I think we may be buying a car.  And by car I mean, a towncar.  A junk car.  It's $500.  :)  In the words of a very wise Dave Ramsey, you live like no one else now so later you can live like no one else. Or something like that.  We are really striving to do that now and will until after we pay off a house.  Cheap cheap cheap.  Anyways, that will let me k

Claire is obsessed with the dishwasher.  She likes patting the water at the bottom and then licking her hand.  Not so bad if the dishes are clean but we can't load the dishes if she is around.  Gross.

Busy

I've been super busy this week trying to do candy boxes for my visiting teachees and the families Brian home teaches.  Claire has been really needy too.  Why do I do this to myself?? I so  could have just bought them something!  It probably would have been cheaper too :P I halfway did the truffles tonight.  ***Hopefully*** I will finish them tomorrow.

Candy box

Last night I went over to a friends house and we made truffles and heart candy boxes.  It was a lot of fun.  Brian was great and watched Claire while I was gone for 3 hours.  I've never made the truffles before but we took a package of oreos and cream cheese and put it in a food processer until it was smooth and then rolled them in balls.  Froze the balls for a while and then rolled them in melted chocolate chips.  Yummmmmy.  We made the boxes from matte board and poster board.  We watched Penelope while we were working.  I couldn't pay much attention to it so I definitely want to rent it.  It seemed super cute.

I took her to the doctor today.  She is 28 inches and 17 lbs.  She's so little!  Doctor said she looks great.  She has a mild case of eczema but the doctor said lotion would be fine.  She got toe prick to check her iron and a few shots.  She did not like those at all.  

In honor of her being out of me for as long as she was in me I thought I'd do a pregnancy tag that my friend has on her blog.  **Congrats to Katelyn!  She found out she is having another boy**

1- Where were you when you first found out you were pregnant? In my bathroom
2-Who was with you? Well, my friend Dawnelle went with me to get the test.  Brian didn't even know I bought it.  We weren't really expecting to be pregnant.
3- How did you find out that you were pregnant? My monthly friend didn't come so then I took the test :)
4- What was your first reaction to finding out you were pregnant? Oh my gosh...What??
5- Your Husbands reaction? Hehehehe...oh I wish you could have seen his face.  He was shocked.  He got excited once we got the insurance issue figured out.
6- Who was the first person you told? Dawnelle...then Brian :P
7-Did you plan to get pregnant? Nope but I was so excited I was!

8-Was everybody happy for you? Oh yes
9- Did you go out and celebrate? Oh I can't remember.
10- Did you want to find out the sex? Oh yea!
11- What was the sex? Girl
12-Did anyone throw you a baby shower? Yup
13- If yes, who? A lady from work.  Caryl...love her!
14- Did you get any outfits at the baby shower that you just knew you weren't going to put on your baby? Nope all were adorable
15- How much weight did you gain? 50...lol.  A lot was water weight.  I was so swollen.
16- Did you loose all of the weight that you gained? Mostly there.  I would like to lose another 10 which would put me less than pre baby
17- Did you get a lot of stretch marks? Not really, none on my tummy
18- What did you crave the most? Reeces peanut butter cereal
19- Did you crave anything crazy? Nope
20- Who or what got on your nerves the most? I was pretty calm **I think** once Brian steamed broccoli and I bawled for over an hour because it smelled so bad.  ugh
21- Were you married at the time? yep
22- Did you have any complications during your pregnancy? Not really.  My back hurt when I was in bed.
23- Where were you when you went into labor? At home
24- Did your water break? During labor.  Vomited and my water broke at the same time lol

26- Did you go early or late? Due date was May 3rd and had her May 6th
27- Who was in the room with you when you gave birth? Brian, Mom, my Doula (Megan), Midwife Sue and a a student midwife, the nurse, resp. therapist, and ped nurses.  We had a party!
28- Was it video taped? yes, and I like watching it.  So cool.
29- Did you have any drugs for the pain? Nope, just my hypnobabies.  Power of the mind :)
30-Did you go Natural or have a c-section? vaginal
31- What was your first reaction after giving birth? i cried alot.  I really wish I could have held her right away
32- How big was the baby? 6 lbs 12 ounces
33- Did your Husband cry? Yes, and it was so cute
34- What did you name the baby? Claire Elizabeth McEwan
35-Did the name have any significance to you? I picked Claire and Brian picked Elizabeth, I think there are some Elizabeths on his side of the family.  
36-Does the baby's name fit? Yes, I can't imagine her named anything else
37- Did the baby have any complications? Some meconium in the water but I'm not sure if she needed to be suctioned.  I'm looking at research about that.
38- How old is your baby today? 9 months old.  Can't believe it.
39- When is the next one coming? Well, my period (sorry) hasn't come back yet so whenever it happens it happens. :)
40- If you could would you do it all over again? Oh yes, I can't wait to have another baby!

Help!

We are having troubles with Claire's eating.  It's hit and miss using a spoon with baby food and rice cereal.  Usually she will eat a small bowl full once a day if we are lucky.  So I thought maybe she would eat finger foods.  She loves the Gerber puffs and cheerios but other than that...nothing.  Not only that, when she does eat some, like today I boiled carrots really well and cut them in little pieces, she will eat a little bit and then gag and throw up.  And that really gets my heart rate up! What do I do? :-P
