Graduation Pics

Picures from graduation

Yay! Done!

This is the Dean of the Business School. Ned Hill. His son works at Sawtooth Software doing what Brian will be doing. We went to dinner with him and his wife while we were up there.

The one picture Brian wanted was the one with the Cougar. He is such a goober. :)

Gotta love graduation.

This and that

So I have been put on "bedrest" by my midwife for elevated blood pressure. I don't think it was all that needed since blood pressure can fluctuate throughout the day and when we went to the hospital for another u/s it was fine. However, better safe than sorry and hey, i'm happy not to have to work anymore! So I am now confined to my bed with my husband making sure I follow the doctors orders. I will be bored the next couple of days and hope to catch up some on some reading and such. I'm really hoping this baby decides to come soon. She said today I was at a +1 station and only 1ish centimeters dilated. I'm thinking she's not going to make her appearance too soon.
I will post my baby shower pictures tomorrow! I'll get all caught up!

Graduation

So today was the first day of Brian's graduation! I worked until 1 and Brian's parents and grandparents flew in. We had the big commencement part in the Marriott Center. We could actually see where Brian was in the crowd which was pretty cool. Elder Bednar was the commencement speaker. He talked about Learning to Love learning or something of the such. :) My back was hurting so bad by that point that I couldn't concentrate on what he was saying. Anyways, it was a good time (besides the hard seats).

After it was over we went out by way of the elevator. Elder Bednar went right by us, so did the relief society general president and young womens president. Then we get out of the elevator and see Elder Perry taking pictures with some people. Pretty cool! We were going to go to Tucanos for dinner but they said there was a 3 hour wait. Oh the joys of BYU graduation. We ended up going to the Golden Corral instead. We were sitting down eating when a woman randomly came up to me and told me that I was what every woman should want to look like while pregnant. Aww...that was so nice. I decided not to bring up my elephantine ankles. But I appreciated it coming from a total stranger.

We also went to Brian's cousin's classroom. Shannon teaches 5th grade and has THE BEST classroom. She has a big turtle, a python, a tarantula, a bearded dragon, fish, and our rats. I wish I could have had a cool teacher like that.

Tomorrow is the business school ceremony. I know I have been totally slacking at the blog game and I will catch up :)

I wish....

So today has not been very exciting. Brian had to work for 4 hours today and then he just studied on campus and took his final. He took the car up to campus so I have not been outside the apartment all day! Bleh. However, it is extremely windy, blowing the nastiness that is Utah smog so I really haven't missed that much. I did want to go to the park today though. For some reason I just really want to go swing! There wasn't much to do at home today either. My apartment was already clean **Imagine that!** so I did the dishes, made some banana bread, and looked at blogs.

Yes, I love reading blogs now. Most are totally random and Brian makes fun of me for it. I usually just find them randomly through other sites and most have to do with things I am doing right now. For example, I have about 4 blogs I look at that are by Labor and Delivery nurses. They have some of the funniest stories EVER. I think that if it weren't for the incredibly long shifts I would like to be a L&D nurse. Although I hate math and science so that may not work for me. They do have some very sad stories though and every so often I find myself sobbing over some story. (Crazy hormones...today I bawled over an episode of Extreme Home Makeover) A couple other blogs are by birth activists. I get so excited for how I want to have our baby when I read these. There are some amazing women out there.
I found a blog today through Deseret News. This chick lives in Utah and is not Mormon anymore, although her family is, and she just writes about her life and other random things. She makes $40,000 a month from the traffic her site gets. Can you imagine??? Geesh, I don't even now how much FAMILY reads this, much less friends, or even much less random strangers. (I mean what random stranger would be interested? Its really not entertaining. I am not the creative one in this relationship) BUT thats a lot of money to just sit down and type on the computer for a while.

Anyway, Thursday Katie came over and we did our "birth rehearsal". I thought it was fun! She had us practice different positions to get through contractions and helped Brian know what to do. Such as, get me water, get me up and moving between waves, and PRAISE me. :) lol. He is going to be great, he was such a good sport about everything.

I really have some pictures I need to put up but I packed my camera away. Tomorrow I will get it out and put some up. Tonight we are renting Hairspray. Haven't seen it yet so I am very excited. I am also 38 weeks today! Whoo hoo! She can come anytime now. We are ready! :) (plus my back really hurts and I have heartburn that makes me want to never sleep again!) Just watch me go two weeks over. :-/

:)

I had my ultrasound appointment today and they said everything looks great! They estimated that she is weighing 6lbs 14 oz (which may or may not be 1-2 lbs off :P) Definitely a girl too! Which is a good thing because then we would have a boy wearing a lot of pink clothes. My due date didn't change with the measurements either. Two more weeks! They said I probably just carry low. Its nice to know that everything is okay. Can't wait to see her!

blah

So I had a doctors appointment today. She said I am measuring small, almost 4 centimeters small. So...I have to set up an appointment for an ultrasound either tomorrow or Friday. I'm sure everything is fine...this will give us a chance to see our baby again. Keep us in your prayers and I will let you know how it goes!

Burning love...

Today at church a young couple sat in front of us. They were SO tan. Either they just got back from a Bahamas vacation or they go tanning together on date nights. We are opting for the latter. Nothing says love like getting skin cancer together.

Amby Bed

So my mom, grandma, and Aunt Samantha got me an Amby bed! I guess its a European thing. Its a hammock type bed that is supposed to comfort the baby. It helps with restless sleepers, short napper, colicky babies, and babies with acid reflux. It is WAY cool looking.

How sweet is that? I can see how a baby should like that. Coming from a place that is all enclosed and small to be on a flat open crib doesn't sound too comforting. This is more curved and enclosed. Thanks so much! I am so excited to use it! I love you guys!

Well I am 37 weeks. I had my baby shower with another girl from work yesterday. I think I will save posting on that until I have some pictures. It was fun though. I hope that this will be our last full week without baby. Brian's parents and grandparents are coming in next weekend for his graduation! Whoo hoo! We shall see what baby wants to do though. Maybe she will grace us with her presence. I will be packing hospital bags this week anyway, just in case :) Everything is going great for me although my feet have started swelling. Its not bad on weekends...I think it just gets bad during the week because I sit so much at work. I think that after Tuesday I will not be working quite as much. The two girls who are taking our spots will be there and I am feeling like I really really need to organize. It's hard because our apartment is so small there is just not room for everything. Then it looks cluttery. I can't wait to move into a bigger apartment!!

Brian's last day of classes as an undergrad are on Tuesday! Then he has finals and then he is done! He has focused much more than I could have, although he has been finding it a little difficult lately. I think that's just the nature of things. Time to move on. We are so excited!!

Mah Birthday!

So I'm hijacking the blog today, because Megan wouldn't tell you what she did for my birthday, or else it would sound all snobbish and such. So let us begin...

I'm on campus on Mondays from 10-5, and then Megan usually picks me up on the way home from work. We had talked about going out to eat for my birthday, but decided that tonight wasn't the best night, and that we could go on a Tuesday earlier and get some sweet lunch-price action at Tucanos. So, basically we agreed nothing was going down Monday night. Megan later called me before my class at 4 and said she was going to stay a little later and get some stuff done at work, so I took the bus home. Well, I opened the door and instead of a dark empty apartment, I got this:

That's right, I've come home to Chicken...cordon bleu? Is that how you spell it? Now that I think about it, I think it's spelled "MMMmmm" Is that sparkling grape juice? Oh snap!
And candles? Get out of town!

So basically she completely fooled me, left work early and made dinner, and then surprised me with a great setup and presentation.

Kudos to you, Megan, kudos...

Great Weekend and Happy Birthday Brian!

I had an absolutely great weekend. Friday Brian took me to work and my dad picked me up! It was so fun to see him! It was weird to see him since he lost so much weight. I almost didn't recognize him! I am impressed with how much he has done and how good he is with it. Such an inspiration:). We picked Brian up from work and went to Outback. It has been a LONG time since I have gone there. Bloomin Onions are good. Yum. That night Brian and I went to the Russian Novosibirsk Mission reunion. This is the 4th one I have been to. I went to one before we started dating. Brian had said that he wanted to set me up with one of his friends. Needless to say I did not find his friend attractive at all. All of the senior couples thought we were dating and kept telling me how lucky I was. :) It was fun. We were married when I went to the second one, barely pregnant at the third, and HUGE at the 4th! I am started to know less and less people at those things. This was the last one though. We will be in Washington for all the rest. They said they are sending less missionaries to Russia because they are changing the immigration laws. Instead of having to renew Visas once every year they have to start doing it once every 3 months. It is too expensive for the church to have to send all the missionaries out of the country every 3 months so they are not sending as many. Sad, but as they said, if the Lord wants missionaries there he will provide a way.

Saturday we got up and watched conference. Then we went to Cabelas. My dad is so funny. He loves that store and wrote down everything he wanted to total up how much it would be. It was a lot more than I would spend there. We also went to DI and to Kohls. Brian found the cheap version of the Magic Bullet so we bought it. We will have to see how it works. Everyone we know who has the Magic Bullet loves it. The one we bought is called the Rocket. lol. Brian is very very very excited. We went to M'Kay and Angie's house and the boys went to the Priesthood session. Then we went out for Mexican that night. Also very good.

Sunday we watched conference and my dad made chicken nuggets for lunch. He is so awesome. He and Brian also cleaned up the kitchen and let me take a nap! I love my two favorite guys! The afternoon session was awesome. Elder Scott and President Monson were so funny. I can't wait to reread the conference talks when they come out in the Ensign. After conference we went back up to Alpine and hung out for the rest of the night. My dad left today to go up to Logan. I already miss him. :( Its so nice when my parents come and visit. I wish we could live closer. Such is life however.

Today is Brian's birthday. The Big 24. I'm not going to say what I'm doing right now, just on the very very unlikely chance that he will check this. I love my husband! Happy Birthday!!

30 more days...

Its April 3rd! I have 30 more days until my "guess date"! Whoo hoo! I think I am just as excited to be almost done with work. I only have 3 more Thursdays of work. When I think about it that way it seems bearable :) We have hired two girls to take mine and Cheri's place when we leave. (Cheri is due June 7th) One girl has already started and the other starts on the 14th. Crazy! Its nice to start training people. Its also really easy because we don't have that much work lately. The Doctors haven't been giving us much to do. I can't really complain but it does make for a long day when the work load is light.

I'm also feeling the whole pregnancy thing more. It's still not bad and most of the time perfectly comfortable. Lately I have started the Braxton Hicks contractions/cramping. My back has started aching a little and I do not sleep at night. I sleep perfect until the first time I have to use the bathroom and then it goes down hill. Every time I get up to go to the bathroom I have to take a tum or two. Heartburn gets bad. Then I have to try to sleep propped up on pillows which is not comfortable at all. I have had a great pregnancy so I shouldn't complain. :) I am getting very excited to see her!

Brian's parent got us our travel system!! We are so excited about it. We have the base in our car already :)
Thank you so much!!!! We really appreciate it :)
Our house is getting crowded by baby stuff.

My dad is coming out tomorrow and I am so excited to see him! It's going to be fun. I really would like to go to bed right now but since I was on a laundry kick I decided to do our sheets and duvet cover. That was a good idea, the bad idea was to do it the last load so I have to wait till it finishes drying before I can make the bed and go to sleep. Blah...
