Hospital Trip
So I was in the hospital for the first time ever today. At least, I cant remember ever being in the hospital before. The baby had hardly moved at all the past 3 days, even when I drank juice or ate some candy and laid down. I hadn't felt 10 fetal movements in an hour for a long time. So, today I called my midwife and she said that I should go straight to the hospital. That pretty much freaked me out. A lady I work with went with me since Brian was at school. We went to Orem Community and they gave me a non stress test. I laid in that bed for over an hour and it was so uncomfortable! Talk about another reason not to get an epidural! I couldn't stand not being able to walk around! Anyway, they said the baby's heart rate looked good. Since it spiked they said that she was getting good oxygen and blood flow. They actually said that she had more spikes than usual at 30 weeks so that it was great. Now, if only she will kick more so I don't freak out!! Silly little girl...

Lonely
The past two days have been really long ones. Brian left yesterday morning to fly to Maryland. He didn't get there until past midnight. I chilled at home and my angel friend Krislyn came over to spend the night with me! I am so lame about being by myself at night. I KNOW nothing is going to happen but I cant be rational at 2:30 in the morning when my imagination kicks into overdrive and I think of all the horror stories that I have read in the news. Blah. Anyway, I slept OK until about 3:30 when I woke up and something was weird but I couldn't figure it out. After getting up for one of my night visits to the bathroom I realized that our fan wasn't on. I have the fan on every night for some white noise. It wasn't on because Brian always turns it on :( After I turned in on I slept through the rest of the night.
Brian's interview was at 9 this morning. He called me after and said that they offered him the job! Its contingent upon passing background and security checks but hey...that will be easy! So we have a job offer! It's nice to have one. I'm so proud of my awesome husband. The job sounds like it has a lot of responsibility but I'm going to make Brian get on and tell you what it would be because I would just get it wrong. He also got a call from WalMart. They want to fly him out on March 9-10 for his third interview. I am almost 100% positive that they will offer him a job too. That means options!! Man, can I just tell you I don't know why I got so lucky to marry him? Everyone says that their husband is awesome but mine is even more awesome :)
Anyway, he is on the plane right now, or about to board, and come home! I don't think he will get home until about 1 am. I am so excited though. I missed him.
I am also excited that I get to fly out to Washington with him. That will be so fun. I am missing Monday and Tuesday of work which I am also excited about. I think I need the break. I am getting "senioritis" about work. Its so close to being over that I just want things to hurry up and be over. I will be 30 weeks on Sunday. Only 10 more to go. Sometimes it seem so close but other times 10 weeks sounds like forever! The baby is so active lately. Brian and I love to watch my belly dance, usually its at night. I do think I will miss that when she is born.
My brother Bryan is going through the temple tomorrow. I am so proud of him for choosing to go on a mission. He will be such a good missionary. I wish I could be there with him.
Well, thats pretty much the extent of things for the moment. I will be taking my camera to Washington so you can have something interesting to look at! I love you all!

So I just wanted to get on real quick to tell everyone about some exciting stuff that has happened recently.
First...I switched doctors. I am going to a midwife clinic now. I had my first official appointment on Monday although I met with a midwife on Thursday for a little bit because I hadn't felt the baby move in over a day. (She was fine and has been moving like crazy) It was a great appointment. The receptionist/MA recognized me from Thursday. I had to get there early and drink my glucose test. I spent about 45 minutes with the midwife which is about 40 more minutes than with my first doctor. I felt like she actually had the time to really answer my questions. She told me about Orem Community, which is where I will have the baby. She said that the episiotomy rate at their clinic is 3% and it is usually just a tiny cut. The rate nationally is much higher than that. Whoo hoo! The only thing that I didn't really like is that they require continuous fetal monitoring. BUT you can still walk around, use a birthing ball, or get in the tub. So I guess that is okay. I really enjoyed my visit. My next appointment is March 11. I will be 32 weeks! Wow. The baby is coming!
The other exciting thing that is going on is with Brian. He is flying out to Maryland for his second interview with the NSA on Feb. 21-22. He also got called back to a second interview for Sawtooth Software. They are flying both of us out to Sequim Washington on Feb. 24-26. He also is waiting to hear back from Walmart, who he interviewed with on Monday. I am so proud of him for doing so good on his interviews!! He is amazing and very very smart. Everyone he interviews with is very impressed with his grades. I married a great guy!
I am excited to go with him to Washington. The guys who came out for the first interview are very concerned with how the wife is going to like the area. I guess it is a pretty small town, only about 6,000. That is fine with me! I would much rather go to a small town. Anyway, we are not crossing any bridges till we come to them and we will go where the Lord wants us to go. Its still pretty dang exciting....

More happenings
I seriously think one of the hardest parts of having a blog is coming up with some "title". I am not a creative person...I have no idea what to title each blog post! The next hardest thing to do is to have something to blog about. We are kind of dull :)
Well, yesterday was Mardi Gras and Super Tuesday. I liked being in Louisiana for Mardi Gras because we got off of school for two days. Then we got fish sandwiches at school on Fridays because Catholics aren't supposed to eat meat on Fridays during the 40 days before Easter. They were good too. It was fish with cheese on top, breaded. Yum. Rachel and I always got excited for those! Seems kinda sad. Another school lunch EVERYONE got excited for was beefy nachos. We had those on Fridays. Teachers would let us out of class early to be able to get in line. I don't know why we liked those so much. By the time you got there the chips were usually soggy and stuff. But then again, you weren't marked tardy if you were late for your next class. You just had to tell the teacher it was beefy nacho day. Rachel, Jenna, and I were always late for our 6th hour class :) Anyway, going back to Mardi Gras, we would give up something for Lent every year. We usually gave up Taco Bell or soda. It was fun though. I could go on and on about high school stuff. I don't miss high school but I really miss Rachel and Jenna!
I had put as my facebook status that I really wanted a King Cake. Mardi Gras is never complete without one. For those who don't know what King Cakes are, here is a little background...
The carnival season begins January 6th, twelve days after Christmas. In many European countries, this celebration, called Epiphany, Little Christmas, or Twelfth Night, commemorates the arrival of the wise men bearing gifts for Jesus and is a time of exchanging gifts and feasting. One of the most popular customs is still the baking of a special cake in honor of the three kings, or A King's Cake. Over time, a the tradition was to bake a little baby (representing Jesus) into the cake. The person who recieves the doll continues the festivities by hosting the next King Cake party. (That was my friend Krislyn...she freaked out a little wondering what was in her piece, I forgot to warn her)
Anyway, a lady from my ward in Louisiana, Donna Butler was awesome enough to send us one!! She is great!! It was delicious :)

Now about Super Tuesday. I went and voted. Took about an hour. The hold up was the old ladies volunteering to help out. Talk about slow. I feel good that I did my civic duty although I knew what the outcome in Utah would be...which it was...Romney got 90% of the votes. I was really disappointed that he didn't win more states. I don't like McCain at all but there was an article that made a good point. If McCain gets nominated we should all vote for him. The next president will probably name 3 Justices. I think we would have a better chance of Pro-life, Republican Justices with McCain rather than Obama or Clinton. And if Hilary wins? Oh well...the world had to start ending some time ;)
Today was also my friend Meredith's baby shower. She is due Feb. 21 but can go anytime now! That was fun. All the of cute clothes made me really excited for our baby :)
Today I also made a count down of how many more work days I have. I wasn't going to do it this far in advance but certain things today made me really wish I could just not go back. Since I have to go back I made the countdown. 59 more work days until I never have to go back again!! Whoo hoo! I think I have 87 more days until my guess date but 59 more of work! It not that I dislike my whole job...just certain...aspects make me want to quit...makes everyone want to quit. There is light at the end of the tunnel though!

Doula
We have decided to hire a doula for when I have baby. I think it is the best thing since both mothers are out of state. I have never done this before and Brian has no experience (probably less) and so I think it would be very supportive for both of us. I have emailed 6 and have a 'consultation' set up with one of them. Prices pretty much range from 250 to 400. Yikes! Its amazing how much money we are going to be spending in the next few months with baby stuff, medical bills, Aspen Grove. Good thing its all worth it! But I will let you know how the doula hunt comes along. I'm very excited about it!
