Fun!

My Grandma Leslie is in town and staying with us for a few day!  We are loving it!!  Now, I just need to get my bum in gear and clear off my camera and make sure I take pictures!

Kinda sad

So I'm pretty sure that the kids have given up their naps.  Sigh.  It is kind of a sad realization.  It's also a little rough transition.  Claire has some breakdowns in the evening and Jack is just a tad fussier.  I'm pretty sure that her breakdowns are in direct correlation with how much TV she has watched.  I'm contemplating saying no TV until Friday night or some such thing.  Last night the kids were in bed by 7:30.  Can you believe that?  This is coming from people who couldn't get to bed earlier than 10 :)  Jack was up at 6:10 which was fine.  6 isn't that early when you are asleep by 8:30, lol.  So I had some time to play with him and then woke Claire up at 7:30.  They are also back in their own bedrooms after being in ours when they were sick.  Claire is adorable in her big girl bed.  Jack woke up once or twice last night calling for us but went back to sleep after a minute or so.  In bed by 7:30 AND out of our room?!  I don't know who I even am anymore! lol.  Of course, we will have a baby in a few months....

So in conclusion....I need to figure out how to make Jack understand that there is a quite time still....I don't think he will play in his room by himself but they start fighting when they are together.

Also, this morning when Jack woke up and I was getting out of bed I had the most massive leg cramp EVER.  It was awful.  I cried.  I now see bunches of bananas in my future.

Getting better

We are finally starting to get over our sickness.  Jack had a fever for a few days after his vomiting episode and a nasty cough and runny nose.  Claire had a cough and then the other night started screaming that her ear hurt.  Apparently she had a pretty bad ear infection....our first one ever.  But, today has been better.  No fever and not much coughing and snot :)  Plus, Brian has all the flooring laid down, now he has to do transitions and floor boards.  He is not too excited.

I forgot to say that I took Claire to the doctor the other day for her 4 year check up. She was NOT excited to go at ALL.  She did great though once we were there.  She is so teeny tiny.  34% for height and 7% for weight.  And for her BMI?  She is in the 3rd percentile.  The doctor told me she was borderline for them to be worried and to feed her more peanut butter :)  But really, that's all she eats for lunches....

I also took her last Saturday on a date.  Claire LOVES dates!  We got dressed up and went to BYU and saw Fancy Nancy and Other Story Books on stage.  It was so fun to do.   Brian thought it was funny we got dressed up but let me tell you, it was nothing compared to some of the other girls there.  Full face of make up and everything.  Claire had a great time.  And then we went to the creamery and got icecream and sat under a tree and watched a rousing game of ultimate Frisbee.  I love doing dates with Claire because she chatters away the whole time.  We need to do them more often!!

Mother's Day

Yesterday was a good day.  Besides the fact that the kids are coughing.  Brian went to sacrament and then came home so I could go to Sunday school and relief society.  Shannon came over and we made taco salad and had delicious chocolate cake and icecream.  We ended the day with a walk in the gorgeous weather.  Then Jack woke up around midnight with a fever and started throwing up.  Like the heroic person I am I even caught the first round in my hand so it wouldn't get on our bed :)  Poor little boy.  He just laid on the bed and looked at me with his big eyes.  I hate it when my kids are sick.  Jack was just so patient.  He wanted to cuddle all night which I was more than happy to do.

I'm so glad to be a mother.  I love my children so much.  I can't wait to add another little boy to our family.  I'm grateful for the wonderful examples of mothers that I have, from my mom to my mother in law, to all our grandmas, and aunts.  We seriously have the best family in the world.  I love you all!

Well....

is anyone else weired out by the new blogger?  I don't do computers.  Ask Brian, I can't figure anything out.

The big thing at our house is that Claire turned 4 last Sunday!  She was in HEAVEN with it being her birthday. I was going to do a big party for her, but then wimped out.  She'll never know (until someday she reads this, sorry Claire! I'm a lame mom!) She loved all the attention.  It felt like this was the first time she REALLY knew what was going on.  My cousin Haley made a big bow to match her church dress and she wore it to church and looked adorable.  The primary president said she hamed it up when they sang Happy Birthday.  We went to Angie and M'Kay's for dinner and took her cake and my cousin took some pictures of her.

   She was adorable.

I just want to tell you....I am so glad she is mine.  We love her so much.  She is a stubborn, strong willed little girl but I wouldn't have her any other way.  She is also sweet and kind and loves us and her brother (mostly).  She is so polite and happy.  We are so thankful that she was sent to our family.  We LOVE you Claire!!
