Arkansas Trip

Well I better get started on updating from our trip to Arkansas. (Mom, I need the pictures from your camera and phone!!) Anyway, we left Sequim Wednesday after Brian got home from work. It was nice to get to the hotel and have it still be light. Claire seemed like she was feeling better and we got her in the pool but she didn't want to stay in too long.

Then we got her in the bath and all of a sudden her fever started again. Ah. She was SO hot. Poor little thing. It took a while for everyone to fall asleep which was a bummer because our flight left at 7 the next morning.

Claire's fever was gone when we woke up, thankfully. She was so good on both flights. She basically slept the whole way. We didn't have to pull out anything to make her happy. I was a little stressed in the morning because there were some really long lines. They let us cut in through security and once we got through we only had 30 minutes before our flight left. I've never cut it so close before. We had a layover in Chicago. She loved going down the automatic walkways on our layover. We had a 3 hour layover so we had some time to kill.

We made it to Arkansas and she ran to my mom. It took her a little while to get happy and bubbly but she absolutely loved her uncles and grandparents the whole trip. We waited about an hour and then my brother's flight got in. Wow, he had changed so much since the last time I saw him.

They lost his luggage in Dallas but they delivered it the next day. We went straight to the Stake center and he met with the stake president and they released him.

Friday the boys went shooting. Saturday we went to Little Rock and went shopping for Bryan. That was fun...lol. Sunday my parents and brother talked in the Mountain View branch. It takes about an hour and a half to get there so Brian and I went to sacrament in my parents ward so Claire wouldn't have to be in the car that long. It was so fun watching Claire with my family. If she didn't want me to make her do something she would yell for her Gramma or Grampa and she would call my brothers by their names or try to...Uncle Bian, Logo, Jordo, or Ethan. My parents could put her to sleep so easy too. She just behaved so much better for them than me. Not fair!

Monday morning we took some family pictures. It was COLD that morning. After we were done we left to go to Tennessee. My dad had to be in Kansas for work so he couldn't come. Claire did pretty good in the car. She only had one meltdown but she only took a 30 min nap the whole day!! I couldn't believe it.

I'll do another post for Tennessee after my momma sends me the pictures :)

Videos

So I think we *may* be getting better. Friday was my birthday and we spent the afternoon in the insta-care getting checked for strep throat. Luckily we didn't have it. The doctor said Claire's ears were red but not bulging so hopefully things will go away soon. Claire went to sleep at 8 last night which NEVER happens. She woke up a couple of times but went right back to sleep. I think her little body is just fighting things off so she's been sleeping more than usual. Brian did go get me a sushi roll though so it wasn't a complete loss lol. Last year I had a child/infant CPR class on my birthday and this year we were sick so maybe third time is a charm. Maybe next year will be fun.

Today was stake conference but we stayed home. They redid the stake presidency and a guy from Brian's work who is retiring when the company moves, got called to be a the first counselor.

We are feeding the sister missionaries tomorrow and I'm making this. I'll let you know if it's good.

Here's some videos we have taken lately.

Reason #56...

why its easier to be a guy.

You can actually have a sick day. A real sick day where you stay home from work and sleep all day and don't touch the baby.

Can a girl do that? No. :-P See, guys are lucky.

Brian is sick...Claire is sick. I was sick last week but no days off for me. I'm anticipating a very rough couple of nights since she is very congested and since Brian is sick I can't take her to bed with me. We are gonna be sleeping (and by sleeping I mean Claire may get some sleep) in the glider. Yippee.

Oh well...as long as they are better before next week when we leave.

Dr

So we went to the midwife today. She is seeing patients out of her house now and has the cutest little house. It was really nice to go in and my appointment lasted an hour and we just chatted a lot of the time. I love it. She said everything looked good, my gestational diabetes test came back completely normal. She is 45 minutes away but it's actually been kinda nice. Brian comes with me and we can talk. Claire was so funny. She was talking up a storm while we were there and she was so interested when the midwife was feeling my belly and listening to the heartbeat on the fetoscope. The midwife would close her eyes to concentrate on the heartbeat because it's not loud like when you use a doppler. She let Claire listen and she closed her eyes just like Kathy did. So cute.

Today she wanted to say prayer so I said each word and she repeated me and wanted to do it again and again. Can't have too much prayer right? :)

She did go #2 in the potty the other day. If we notice her in the bath we put her on the potty and sometimes she pees. Well when she went poop she freaked out. Seriously, freaked out. I have idea why. I guess she is not ready lol.

Yesterday she was in the kitchen with Brian and I was in the living room reading a book. She wanted to stand on my flour bucket and play in the junk drawer, which I usually let her do while I'm cooking. Brian didn't know that I let her do that so he kept telling her no. Next thing I hear is Claire saying "Dadda no! Momma help! Momma help!" haha. I can't believe she will be two soon. I have a couple of funny videos but they are on Brian's phone so I have no idea how to get them off it. I'll have to have him do it tomorrow.

Life is good.

Chile Earthquake

I saw this article from the Meridian Magazine today and it was awesome. (and I love that it was Sister Laycock...not President Laycock...is that totally bad? lol)

It really makes me want to be more in tune with the spirit and to make sure that I have done everything in my power, temporally and spiritually, so that my family is prepared for any situation.
