The weather has been beautiful here lately! Until today...

Just when I thought spring had come to stay it dumps a bunch a snow.

Utah weather stinks.

Go go go Joe....

Brian and I went to the Center Street Theater last Friday and saw Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. It was actually a LOT better than I thought it was going to be. The girl who was the narrator and the guy who played Joseph could actually sing! I was impressed. Brian had never seen the play before or the movie but we have the CD and I play it a lot. He likes the music now that he has seen the play. Same thing when we saw Les Mis for my birthday last year. I played the music constantly but Brian didn't really know what was going on. Once he did know he actually liked listening to the music. Next to go....Cats....someday :)We could have gone to Cats when it was playing in St. George but, its like 3 hours to get down there.

Katie, our Doula, came over tonight. I love her. She is great. She is going to be on the radio talking about Hypnobabies soon. She is going to send us the info and when I get it I will post it on here. She's really passionate about what she does and the more I learn about things the more passionate I get about what I believe. There are a couple of pregnant girls at work and some guys have wives that are pregnant too. I try to tell them the things I learn and the stuff I believe without sounding preachy. Everyone can have their own opinion but a lot of people just don't KNOW things. For example, every single person I have told that I am going with a midwife instead of an OB gives me the strangest looks. They seem to think that having a midwife is having some random, non trained person come deliver my baby. Probably out in the barn. And they automatically think that it means I am delivering at home. I would love to someday deliver at home but right now Brian is not comfortable with that and I am more than happy to be at home as long as possible and then go to the hospital. Also, most of the people at work seem to think that an episiotomy is 100% guaranteed. I would say more than likely when you are stuck on your back because you cant move from an epidural. Its like the worst way to push!! When I first met the midwife she said the episotomy rate is about 3%. The one I met with on Tuesday said that 3% was probably higher than it really is. Who knows...maybe they just take the time to give a little more support than OBs.

Okay enough of that...I could go on....but I wont. I am going to go get ready for bed! I dont sleep well at all anymore. I seem to have Braxton Hicks in the middle of the night too. Then I get to work at 7:30 and leave about 5. Makes for a long day with little sleep. Oh well, it will only get worse when the baby comes! Love you all!

Long one...you have been warned.

This will be a long post...I haven't updated in a while....
First, we are going to Washington. Brian accepted the job with Sawtooth Software. We will be moving up there sometime in the middle of June after our family reunion at Aspen Grove. It is nice to know where we are going. Now that its been decided I can start planning ahead. I am sad to not be closer to family but once again, who knows where any of us will be in the next ten years. Brian thinks he will like the job in Washington best so that is the right thing to do! I'm so proud of him. He's heard of two other people who interviewed for his job. It's a nice ego boost to know that you were the one to get offered a job that is very selective in hiring and hardly ever hires a new person. I think Brian's mom will fly out to Washington after we move and then my family will come with their RV to spend some time. It is going to be an adventure!! And hey, who can't be excited about an upcoming Hawaii trip?? Nice little perk of the job. :)

Wednesday was my appointment with the midwife. I LOVE going to that place. I walk in and the receptionists don't even have to ask who I am. They already know my name. It is SUCH a difference verses the Provo OB. I am so excited to have changed. The midwife said that the baby is head down and will "more than likely" stay that way. I hope so!! Since it was my birthday we went to Red Lobster. :) Yum...shrimp scampi is my favorite!! I also got my packages from my family. Brian's mom got me some maternity shirts. I wore one on Friday and everyone at work thought it was so cute. My mom and Grandma M. also got me some clothes (and really comfortable pjs.) and also Becoming Jane. My grandma Leslie and Aunt Samantha got me some baby stuff. Way cute. I took some pictures.

Socks from my Grandma Leslie
Some stuff my friend Rachel sent me. She is so awesome :)

A onsie from my Grandma L and a blanket from my Aunt.Flowers Brian sent me to work.....so pretty

I also watched the Business of Being Born that my aunt sent me. WATCH IT. It is way good. It talks about the birthing trends in the united states and how behind we are starting to get. Brian thought it was really interesting too. Just expect nudity...they are having babies you know...
Our doula, Katie, also came over on Wednesday. We wrote up a birth plan for me to take to the midwifes and she taught Brian some counterpressure that he will be using when I have the baby. She is super nice.

Thursday we went and toured the Orem Community hospital. I thought it was really nice. They put you in a triage room to check to make sure you are in labor. I am planning on skipping that part since I plan on going in when I am OBVIOUSLY in labor. (I am planning on staying at home as long as possible) The rooms looked nice. Most have a jacuzzi tub for women who want to have their baby naturally. They also have a snack area for the patients... i.e. the husbands. Brian was excited about that.
My brother left for his mission on Thursday. He is in Ghana and will be there for two years. He got there safe and sound and is sad to only be eating rice. Maybe he will lose some weight! lol. I am SO proud of him for choosing to go on a mission...he is a great kid.
Friday we went an hung out with our friends Kyle and Christy and their adorable little girl. It was really nice to spend time with friends instead of just in our apartment.

Saturday we went to Burlington Coat Factory to their Baby Depot. We found a swing on sale and wanted to buy it but we headed over to Babies R Us to make sure it wasn't cheaper there. It wasn't but we did decide on what travel system and glider we wanted. We went back to Burlington and bought the swing. Yay! Our first baby purchase!! We put it together today. I know we still have 7 weeks but hey....we wanted to make sure it wasn't BROKEN or anything :) So now it will just sit in our living room but we are sure excited about it.

Cute huh?? I've heard that this is one purchase you cant live without. We shall see...

I am 33 weeks today. If I get through next week without having the baby (which is a pretty sure thing) then I don't have to go to Utah Valley Regional if I go into labor. Since the NICU is at Utah Valley my midwifes deliver there if it's before 34 weeks. I look and feel HUGE. I have no idea how my stomach can stretch anymore. People tell me that I look like I am all baby which I appreciate. I don't have a long waist so I am going to be GINORMAS! I had a little meltdown on the way to church today. I felt so awkward. I don't sleep well because my stomach feels so heavy BUT I don't think I have started to waddle yet so I try to count my blessings :) Here is a picture. I thought black was supposed to be slimming but I guess when you get to this point nothing is anymore.
Just be nice...I think I look bigger in pictures than in real life...PLUS my shadow adds a few inches....so notice the shadow and then my belly.

Aw well...I haven't got stretch marks or anything yet. "Cross my fingers" 7 more weeks! Love you all!

Waiting....

I haven't updated in a while. Brian flew out Sunday to go to his interview in Arkansas. I had to go to church by myself which was seriously not fun. It's not like in a singles ward where you go sit with friends. Everyone is there with a spouse or family so it really stinks sitting all by your lonesome. I had to give the lesson by myself too but that wasn't bad. By the time all of our class shows up from meandering around in the halls, there was only about 25 minutes left of class. I also brought bribery cookies :) It was a long day though. My friend Krislyn came and spent the night with me again. She is an angel! We went to sleep around 10:30 and woke up to the unpleasant sound of the fire alarm wanting to say that it's battery was dying. WHY does this always happen in the middle of the night?? I think it's programmed to do that... It's a good thing Krislyn was there though or I would have wet myself (which isn't unlikely considering how very fragile my bladder is these days).
Brian said that his interview went well. They know that he has another job offer that he has to respond to by Friday so hopefully we get an offer letter in the next day or two. He was having some trouble with his flights today. He was flying from Bentonville to Houston and Houston to Salt Lake. His flight to Houston was delayed because of some thunder storms they were having. When he finally got to Houston all the gates were full so they sat on the runway for 30 minutes. He and a couple of other people had to run to catch the Salt Lake flight. BUT he is in the air on his way home now. Yay! I have been cleaning and stuff to make it a nice place to come home to. I also wanted to make something for him to eat like banana bread or something but lo and behold I do not have any butter, oil, or randomly, baking soda. I fail...*shaking of head* My poor husband...I did make some juice though. I need to make a grocery list.
Tomorrow is my appointment with the midwife and also with our doula, Katie. I'm pretty excited. 54 days!!
My brother gets set apart tomorrow. I am so super excited for him. He is going to be SUCH a great missionary. I am so proud of him!

Number 2!

Brian got his second job offer today! This one was from the job up in Washington. They have some really really good benefits with this job. I'm so proud of him! The president said that he was picked unanimously over the other two people who flew up there to interview. (they also said that everyone who met me liked me...shucks...) Brian gets along great with everyone. I'm so lucky. He has one more interview scheduled...this one with WalMart. Then the bridge has come to be crossed and we will have to decide how to cross it! Its kind of stressful and a little overwhelming. Its a good thing that I have had a great example of moving and being away from family. Besides...my parents will probably be moving sooner rather than later....not to start a rumor or anything, its just knowing my family! :) Love you guys!

I get obsessed with one kind of cereal and eat it constantly until I can't stand it anymore and then I move on to the next type of cereal. Is that weird?

Today was Meredith's baby's blessing. It was good to see her and some other people from my freshman year that I don't get to see very often.

9 more weeks to go. We reorganized this weekend and now I have some space for baby clothes and things.

My favorite part of today was coming home from church and taking a nap with Brian. And then eating chicken nuggets and mashed potatoes. Yum

Sequim (Pronounced squim)

I thought I would tell about our Washington trip...finally.
Sunday we headed up to the aiport. Our flight left around 11. It wasn't a bad flight, the take off was not fun though because it was extremely windy. I was glad that we were missing the storm that was blowing in. It actually went really fast because the guy sitting next to us talked the whole time. We got to Seattle around 12 since there was a time change and finally figured out where to get our Thrifty Rental car. We got a PT Cruiser (since no one wants to buy one they have a ton at rental places). It was our first time to Washington! I was surprised that it was sunny because everyone was telling me how rainy it would be. It was very pretty actually.

Brian was sad that the blinder thing wasn't long enough...but he didn't know all he had to do was pull it out more.
Ship yards that we passed.

We got to Sequim around 4ish and met one of the guys from Sawtooth at the condo that we were staying at. Then we hooked up with a Realtor and he took us around and showed us some condos and a house. It was so expensive! I really would not want to live in a condo because they have no yards and I really want a garden. They said everything grows there except tomatoes. Brian doesn't like tomatoes so I will just have to buy a Aerogrow or something.
Monday we got up and ate at this Oaks Cafe place for breakfast which was holy cow expensive for breakfast. Good but I wouldn't make it a habit. Then at 9 we headed to Sawtooth for the interview. Brian interviewed with everyone from 9 until noon and then we had lunch and then from 1 until 3:30. I went around with one of the wifes. She drove me all over Sequim.

I think that if it was right for us to move there I would enjoy living in a small town. The cops will get you if you drive 2 over the speed limit. There is a regular Walmart, a Costco, and a couple of small grocery stores. There is a HUGE berry farm where you can buy what you pick. It is right next to salt water which I have never experienced. She was showing me some neighborhoods when we saw this huge elk herd.

You can see Victoria Canada in the background.

The "Spit"
Anyway, Brian said that he did really well with his interview. They will make their decision sometime next week so who knows.
Monday night we went to dinner with another couple. They were really really nice. We went to this Italian place where prices do not reside on the menu. That tells you something huh? It was good but very expensive.
Tuesday morning we slept in a little and then returned the keys and headed back to Seattle. On the way we stopped at John Wayne's Marina. When the tide is out you can walk down and look for little crabs.

If you cant tell...thats one holding some broken shells.

When you flip rocks over there are tons that appear.

Anyway, we got to the airport very early and our flight was delayed. No idea why. We were sitting there and one of the workers asked me if I wanted to preboard. Apparently pregnancy is considered a disability. I was on the verge of refusing on the principle that I don't consider pregnancy a disability but hey, if you are the first one on you are the first one off! The flight was also good. Another pregnant girl sat next to us and by the end of the flight we found out that we both know mutual friends. Christy and Kyle Christensen in fact. Random. We didn't get home until really late but it was a nice trip, if not entirely relaxing.

I know this post is really long but its March 1st! I am so excited for it to be March. I have a doctors appointment on the 11th and probably one TWO weeks later on the 25th. (Yay! it means we are almost there when they start me on two weeks) My Birthday is the 12th and Bryan leaves for his mission on the 14th! And we are getting closer and closer to our baby!! Whoo hoo! Exciting month! :)
