So I just signed up for cell phone service with Platinum Tel. They use Sprints network and do prepaid plans. Their basic prepaid plan is 5 cents per minute and 2 cents per text message. Right now you can sign up for an $80 cell phone that runs Android (apps, wifi, calendar sync etc.) and you get a $50 time card for free. Now, it is a bright pink phone, but I'm a secure in my manhood cheapskate, so nothing a case can't fix :)
So cheap cellphone plus an Ooma VoIP system should bring our phone costs down quite a bit.
